Anne is one of 31 women singer/guitarists performing for three days in the durational work Romantic Songs of the Patriarchy, an art installation by Ragnar Kjartansson, throughout the spaces the historic Women’s Building in the Mission District of San Francisco. The live performance will feature women singing familiar and what at first seem to be innocuous love songs, but when listened to more carefully reveal more complex attitudes towards women.
