I’ll be sharing soothing songs of connection in cahoots with songwriter Emily Shumway as Stone Pine, named for those trees who require the cooperation of creatures to spread their seeds. Louis Vega on bass will be rounding out the sounds. Magick Altman, activist, poet, Tarot reader will be sharing her work as a Bay Area activist in between sets.
A wonderful songwriter from Austin, Texas, Julia Lucille will be also playing her really gorgeous music before us.
Inspired by the book The End of Night, I’ll be sharing sone new music: night songs, lullabies, homages to darkness, in addition to old favorites. One piece I am especially excited to share is the poem “Fire” by poet, musician, author Joy Harjo, adapted as a song.
See you there.
